Hello students and parents!
We had a great week last week! The kids did an excellent job on their point of view quiz. Although we will no longer be studying this in class, this is a skill that they will continue to use in their reading. We recommend that you practice with your child by having a short talk about the books they are reading periodically and asking them from which perspective the story is told. Although this is a very short week, we have several things to cover. Here is what we have planned!
In Guided Reading class we will learn a little more about the first thanksgiving and the discovery of America. We will talk briefly about Christopher Columbus, colonization, and the holidays we celebrate today.
In Math class we will review for a short quiz on Tuesday. We will be testing to see how independently the students can utilize each of the multiplication strategies we have studied.
In Science class we will finish our research on biomes and have a short quiz to gauge our knowledge of this subject.
This week the kids need to have finished with up to Arena 7 in their new homework log. We will also have a few Language Arts IXLs to review the prefixes and suffixes we have studied.
Monday: LA IXL N.2, ReadWorks Article
Tuesday: LA IXL N.11, ReadWorks Article
Just a reminder Monday and Wednesday the kids DO NOT need to bring lunch. We will have a farewell party for Ethan on Monday and the Thanksgiving celebration on Wednesday. Please only send a snack with your child.
Thank you parents! Have a great week!
